Course Description

This course is a deep dive into the algebraic concepts which can be understood with just a Pre-Algebra background (prerequisite knowledge: decimals, fractions, and percents). These concepts form the majority of the early problems on MATHCOUNTS and AMC 8.

  • 4 weeks, from Tue Jun 14, 2022 to Mon Jul 11, 2022
  • Mon–Fri, 2:15–3:15pm ET
  • No class on Sat & Sun (except for Sat Jul 9)


The best way to get used to thinking mathematically is to play with math every day. This course runs over 4 weeks, meeting for an hour on each of 5 weekdays per week. Students learn new concepts from Tuesday through Friday. Over each weekend, they work on a challenging homework set, which is discussed in class on the following Monday.
